ignorace is bliss
Okay, not really. But, after these prenatal classes and videos I have seen and learned more than I would ever have imagined... and honestly it's mainly a good thing i suppose! I definitely was not paying attention in 9th grade health class... all i remember is the "blue cheese" and then going to lunch and nobody eating the pizza that day!
Actually it is nice knowing what to expect and how the whole process will go (for the most part). There is a lot more too it that just popping out a kid.

Paul is going to be 31!!
Yep, Paul's birthday is tomorrow. I am preparing yummy Christmas Morning rolls for him. (He likes those!) We have had a busy day. We ran around town, went to my cousins' basketball games and had to shop for birthday food. :) I love celebrating birthdays!!
I am not sleeping well at all lately. I don't know why. I am trying to calm myself down... but I seem to get too wound up. I don't know. Hopefully tonight will be better!
I am very excited that my aunt Becky is going to be my doula. She is very experienced, is gentle and loving, and was there when my mom gave birth to me. Crazy!! I talked with her today and she really put me at ease. So, if anyone is in need of a doula... I know a fantastic one!!

It's creeping up on me... 31, I can't believe it. 30 was old but and exciting old... 31 just sounds plain ole' boring old... and I know its not even really THAT old! Maybe being a daddy will make it feel not as old, kind of like I should be 31. That beautiful 27 year old I'm married to is such a youngun'.

Tired
I am so tired. I have not been sleeping too well and as such I feel run down. I think that I literally have checked my brain somewhere and I can't seem to find it. I feel very overwhelmed right now with all the things that I need to be doing for school and for the kids in my class. I just don't seem like myself this year. Anyway, today was just one of those "blah" days. Oh, well...hopefully tomorrow will go much better. :)
I know my brain will return to me someday... probably after baby is born.

Just Not my Day
Here is how my day started:
I am NOT a morning person and I can get downright grumpy if I don't get enough sleep. Well, I haven't been getting great sleep lately as I am uncomfortable in bed. I had to wake up early this morning because I was presenting a technology workshop to other teachers. I made sure that I was at school by 7:15 this morning so that I could get the Library prepared for the influx of people taking my class. Well, I was locked out of the school. I could not get in. Finally I found a door that led to the child care center. I was so thankful that they were there! I decided that I would wait until other people started coming to worry. The lights were all out, the front door was locked and the Library was locked. About 7:50 I started to freak out. People started arriving for my class and I did not have a room. So, I put everyone in my room. The desks were too tiny and I felt bad. I started trying to get everyone connected to the internet etc. and in walked my principal! I was so thankful! he opened everything up and then we were able to move to the Library. It took about 20 mins. for me to get everything ready.
One of the things that I showed the class today was www.delicious.com a bookmarking website. This is a great site for teachers as it allows you to share your bookmarked pages with other teachers. I thought it would take awhile to get everyone registered...it only took ten mins.!!I couldn't believe my luck! So, I started right in with explaining things and having them try certain things when the site kicked us all off. We could not use the site. We had too many people signing on from the same IP address.....AHHHH!!! It would not work!! I was frustrated and so I took a deep breath and told everyone that I would walk them through how to bookmark and what that looks like. I logged into my account and started talking without looking at my screen. I looked up and immediately remembered that the last things that I had bookmarked were all about breastfeeding and how to pump!! I could have crawled into a hole right then and there. My websites were marked so that only I could see them if I logged in, and no one else could if they went to my site.... well I logged in. I tried to get off the site ASAP. Everyone laughed.... I did too. What else could you do?
Needless to say I eventually let everyone leave a bit early since nothing was cooperating with me well. I hope the afternoon goes better than the morning!!

Shopping & More
I have to laugh at how funny Paul and I must look when we are shopping for baby. We both know nothing and we obviously stick out like a sore thumb because everyone says, "oh, this must be your first baby." Yep, it is!!
Paul is a sucker for tiny little baby girl things. (I am a sucker too.) We have found some fun things at Ross'. I think our favorite are these tiny little Adidas socks that we found yesterday. They are so small with the 3 little stripes too.
Last week when we found out that we were having a girl Paul suggested going to Build a Bear to make a stuffed animal. We found a cute little bear that we stuffed and put a little It's a Girl shirt on. It is really cute. I am glad that Paul thought of it. We should be scanning in the first pictures here soon!!

COLOR!
I'm glad God created color... however pink has always been on the bottom of my list. That is SLOWLY beginning to change... but in the mean time, I am sure glad that there are greens and purples and yellows that go good for little girls things!
It's so cute, Abbie has already begun to hang up the clothes we've begun to get for the baby (which are super tiny by the way!). I must admit there is some amazingly fun stuff out there. They even make shirt sleeves that fold over the hands like mittens.

It's A GIRL!!!
Yep, the ultrasound revealed that our little baby is our little GIRL! Throughout the ultrasound she was active, active, active. She was wiggling around, kicking, moving her arms, and she even opened her mouth! We got to see her little feet and her hands in a little fist. It was so amazing!!! So, May 19 (or sometime around then) we can all welcome our precious little sweetheart into the World.

Happy New Year!!
Happy New Year! Paul and I were bums and went to bed early, but at midnight we did wake up to the popping of fireworks. The break has been wonderful for me. I have really had a great time sleeping... that seems to be all I want to do. Paul painted the baby room. Mary came over yesterday and mentioned that it was Green Bay colors. (yes that is my team but I did not plan it that way!!) Paul's eyes got really big and now he is insisting that the office downstairs be the colors of the BEARS. :) We laughed though because neither of us even noticed. :) Paul's parents were here over Christmas and made it home safely yesterday. It was such a joy to have them in our home. We really do not have the chance to see them very much over the course of a year. So it was nice to have them over at our house. Paul and I have been playing lots of games and enjoying some much needed relaxation before school hits again for both of us. I hope that you have had a wonderful Christmas break as well!!
