So Great

So, it is so great to have Paul back at home. Zoë recognized him right away and is having a hard time not being with him at all times. She is definitely daddy's little girl. Paul is napping a little right now. He is struggling with a little jet-lag. He has some wonderful stories of the medical team he was a part of in Africa. I will have to have him post some pictures of all that they did there. I always get tears in my eyes because I love Africa so much. It has been hard for me that I was not able to go along on the trip. I missed the people so much. I am hoping that we will be able to go again someday soon.

Our Little Peanut

Well, Zoë had her 4 month check up today. She is very healthy. :) We are thankful for that. She is very tiny though. She is 24.5" long and is in the 50th percentile. Her head is in the 25th percentile and her weight is 11 lbs, 11 oz. she is in the 15th percentile. So, she is healthy but small. We are thankful that she is a very healthy smiley baby. :)

September First

Looking back over the summer I can see how very busy we were. May through July we were getting used to having a baby around the house. I was healing from the c-section (not fun and I am still numb on my tummy.) July and August went by like a blur. Zoë went to Super Summer Camp with Paul and I in July. Then grandma Janice, Zoë and I drove out to see Aunt Julie. Next Paul and I and Maddie Hunter left the first part of August to go to Oregon to visit grandma and grandpa Camp and enjoy some time in Seattle. We returned and my mom needed someone to help take the little girls to school so, Zoë and I went along. I am glad that I went with them to school. It was good to see them run. (This is Mary's first time doing cross counrty). I was able to meet some of their friends and spend some more time with grandma and grandpa Camp. It was really hard to say good bye. My mom and I drove back together and we stayed an extra day with Julie. So fun! I had to laugh because I had seen their family every other week in August. My mom and I drove back Friday and we were almost in a very bad accident. At around 9 or so there was a deer in the middle of the highway. My mom was driving and swerved to the left hard, then to the right hard, and then we did a 360 in the middle of the highway facing on coming traffic. The car behind us swerved to miss us and parked along the highway shoulder. We were so thankful that no one was around us and that we did not flip over the guard rail. We were pretty shook up. God was definitly watching over us.
I am really glad that I missed the first day of school. It has been harder than I thought it would be not teaching this year. I would not change a thing though. How could I leave Zoë during this time in her life? I am learning so much from her and every single day she is changing. I am so thankful for this time that I have with just her. It is precious. I do miss school but maybe I could volunteer some of my time. :)
