Big week ahead...

So a lot has been happening this past week. Dyann threw me a church baby shower and it was soooo sweet. It was a nice size and some very special people came. One thing I know... baby will be well dressed. We have so many clothes! Wow! And each outfit is darling!! Paul and I went to a play Thursday night called South Pacific. The West High drama put it on. They did a fantastic job. It was so fun to see a lot of students that we know from youth group in the play. Paul and I went with Kyle and Natalie. It was so fun just to be with another couple for dinner and a play. Last night paul and I were invited over to Wes and Niki's to have dinner. (my parents were invited too and that was so cool.) I am so excited to see what journey God is walking Wes and Niki through. They are an amazing couple, with missions on their mind. Today Paul is helping to organize volunteers to set up the Step into Africa AIDs exhibit. It is going to be sooo cool!! I am so excited that it is finally here. One funny thing... when I was at the play I stepped out during intermission to grab a drink of water. As I was walking back into the auditorium I was following a mother and daughter. The mother was very small and had a slight limp. She was holding onto her daughter's arm. As we were walking there was a leg that shot out suddenly and kicked the mother hard in the rear end. I couldn't believe it!! The mother fell into her daughter and grabbed me in the process of falling as well. The girl that had kicked actually slipped and fell and the mother happened to get hit in the process of her falling. (did that make any sense? ) Anyway, I made sure everthing was OK and then I went to my seat. A few minutes later the mother and daughter walked by me and I asked if she was still doing OK. She said yes and then we both started laughing at the awkwardness that the situation put us in. She was horrified that she had grabbed on to a pregnant woman. I just laughed and said that it was a good thing I was nice and stout. :-)

Paul is Home

Paul is home and he brought back a KU onesie. I am so glad that he is home. It is so nice!! I had to laugh when he pulled out that Jayhawks onesie. He was so excited... next year he said... next year! Good for a boy or a girl! :)

Totally Bummed!!

Well, Paul was supposed to be home today at noon... well, as always his plane had mechanical problems and so he won't even get in until late tonight. Bummer!! I was looking forward to spending the afternoon with him. Oh, well... good thing that I am ready for him to come home!! :-)

PREGNANT??

so kids really do say the darndest things here are two examples of comments I heard today:

- little boy- "gee Mrs. Hansen you sure are getting pregnant!"

- another little boy- "I can tell you are pregnant now Mrs. Hansen!"

I just have to laugh! Too cute!

Graffiti

Alright, so I pulled into my driveway yesterday and was shocked to find bright blue graffiti all over. I was a little unnerved about it. So, I left the car running and stepped out to see what it said. Well, low and behold the graffiti must have been done by a kindergarten student in bright blue chalk. Here is what it said, "HI MOM" and "BUTT". I was laughing so hard I was almost crying. I thought to myself... this little person must have thought he/she was pretty bad to write the word, "BUTT" on someone's driveway. I am glad that is the only bad word they knew!! :-)
I can just picture them walking to school and telling a friend... "LOOK! I WROTE THE WORD BUTT!!"

Too funny!!!

March Madness

All the flights went well today. Tomorrow is a day full of basketball, and I get to watch the morning session live! It's the greatest time of the year!

Fast Week

The week went really fast. I am starting to take back my classroom so the days go faster than when I am not teaching. I am having trouble wrapping my mind around being a mom. There is so much responsibility and so much to think about. Anyway... there is always a lot on my mind now.

Learning to Breathe and Crochet

Well, Paul and I headed to Bozeman to learn to breathe. My aunt Becky (who is my doula) did an AMAZING job. I would recommend it to anyone. We learned a lot and we were able to practice privately without a ton of people around. I am getting excited for the birth. It is sneaking up on us quick. Paul and I were going to go downtown to shop a little, but we couldn't go because there was a huge explosion that took out some of the buildings downtown. It was very sad. So, we went snowshoeing and my aunt taught me how to crochet. :) I am not very good yet but I am practicing!!

Every 2 Weeks

I went in for my checkup today and everything is looking fine. :)
Now I have to go in every two weeks to get checked. I can't believe that I am in the 3rd trimester already. May 19th is sneaking up fast. Baby has been kicking a lot and that is good. This break has been just what I needed. I am catching up on some much needed sleep and Paul and I are planning on going to Bozeman this weekend to work on breathing techniques with my Aunt Becky (the doula). I am hoping that the roads stay OK for our trip up there and back. It will be nice to get out of town for a bit. I am hoping that your week is just as restful as mine. :)
